Dust Mite Spray
Specially formulated chemical dust mite spray contains benzyl benzoate, tannic acid and liquid nitrogen, killing house dust mites. Clinical trials were performed by Doctors G. Brivio and M.A. Boscolo on patients suffering from allergies attributed to dust mites at the Allergen Centre of Merate Hospital, Italy. They were subsequently published at the European Congress of Allergology and Clinical Immunology.
Scientific documentation summary
Trial No. 1 - comparison of Dust Mite Controller with no protection
20 patients had the Dust Mite Controller (allerVia) device fitted in their bedrooms, while the other 20 "control" patients had no environmental protection prescribed.
At the conclusion of the three month trial, the group with Dust Mite Controller (allerVia) had fewer days with allergy symtoms and less recourse to medication for relief rather than the control group, with an improvement of 37% in symptom free days per month and over 33% in drug free days per month.
Trial No. 2 - comparison of Dust Mite Controller and mattress covers with no protection
15 patients had Dust Mite Controller (allerVia) device fitted in their bedrooms while 15 patients had a dust mite mattress protector fitted, and the other 15 "control" patients had no environmental protection prescribed.
Both the group using Dust Mite Controller and the group using a dust mite mattress cover showed a 16% decrease in days with symptoms over the control group. Both of these groups also had a 10% reduction in days where drugs needed to be taken to alleviate dust mite allergy symptoms or red, itchy, weepy dust mites eczema.
Trial No. 3 - comparison of Dust Mite Controller (allerVia) and chemical pesticide and no protection
16 patients had the Dust Mite Controller (allerVia) device fitted in their bedroom, while 16 patients had rooms treated with pesticide and the other 16 "control" patients had no environmental protection prescribed.
Both the group with Dust Mite Controller and the group using chemical pesticides showed a 19% decrease in days with house dust mite allergy symptoms over the control group. Both of these groups also had a 10% reduction in days where drugs needed to be taken to alleviate allergy symptoms. The presence of dust mites in both the Dust Mite Controller (allerVia) and chemical pesticide groups' homes had decreased by 20% more than the "control" groups' homes.
The conclusions of these trials were that the Dust Mite Controller (allerVia) is shown to be at least as effective as either mattress dust mites covers or chemical pesticides in controlling the allergens that cause symptoms and recourse to drugs for relief.
